2 injured in Saturday wrecks

Fulton resident Kalyn M. Davis, 17, of Fulton, was seriously injured in a one-vehicle accident Saturday night in Callaway County.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reported she was driving at about 11:50 p.m. north on Route J, about 1,600 feet from County Road 354.

Her vehicle went off the right side of the road, struck a ditch and became airborne. Upon land, the vehicle began rolling over, causing the driver to be ejected.

Davis, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken by helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia.

Kevin A. Rustemeyer, 27, was moderately injured Saturday in a one-vehicle wreck in Cole County.

The patrol said he was eastbound in a field at 447 Murphy Ford Road at about 7:35 p.m. when he attempted to navigate a left turn too fast, overturning his vehicle.

He was wearing a safety device, the patrol said.

He was taken by ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia.
