Area hospice provider receives recognition

A central Missouri hospice provider has been recognized for the quality of services it provides.

HEALTHCAREfirst, a provider of assessments for home health and hospice care companies, named the Compassus program as a 2019 Hospice Honors recipient.

Hospice Honors is an annual review that recognizes programs which provide the highest level of quality as measured from the caregivers’ point of view.

Award recipients were judged on 24 quality measures that came about from annual surveys that rate care during the year. This award was for the year ending in September 2018. Scores were aggregated from all completed surveys and were compared on a question-by-question basis to a national performance score calculated using all the responses from providers contained in the Hospice Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems database.

Compassus scored above national scores on at least 20 of the questions, according to a news release.

The Compassus program serves Jefferson City and Osage Beach.
