Legislative hearings at the Missouri State Capitol were interrupted Tuesday morning by a fire alarm that triggered a building evacuation.

But no fire was found.

"A food warmer activated a smoke alarm," Jefferson City Fire Department spokesman Jason Turner explained.

The call came about 8:50 a.m., and people were allowed to return to the Capitol at 9:10 a.m.
