Jefferson City store recognized for $1 million in lottery sales

Schulte’s Fresh Foods on Southwest Boulevard in Jefferson City is one of 81 retail locations across the state that sold more than $1 million in lottery products last year.

Missouri Lottery officials said this was the first year Schulte’s earned the “Million Dollar Club status.”

“Based on their 2018 lottery sales, Schulte’s Fresh Foods accounted for more than $243,000 in funding for public education,” Missouri Lottery Executive Director May Scheve Reardon said. “This money is used for education programs like the A+ Schools Program, the Foundation Program and Special Education Excess Costs.”

Reardon said education programs in Cole County, including Lincoln University, received more than $3.3 million in funding during the most recent fiscal year, based on statewide lottery sales.
