Lincoln University's May 11 commencement exercises will be held outdoors in the Dwight T. Reed Stadium, weather permitting.
For the last two years, the ceremonies were staged inside The Linc wellness center, which opened in May 2017.
But, the school announced Friday, "students wished to return to old traditions."
In the news release, LU President Jerald Jones Woolfolk said: "Our students, who will transition to alumni on that day, have been communicating with me since early on in this academic year their desire to return to this bit of history."
In the event of inclement weather, the program will be moved to the Mitchell Auditorium in the Richardson Fine Arts Center.
The ceremonies also will be live-streamed and will be available online at lincolnu.edu/live-stream.
