A Jefferson City man has been charged with breaking into a Cole County business.

Joshua Champion, 40, is charged with second-degree burglary and stealing for a break-in that allegedly occurred March 14 at Lage's Cabinet Shop on Schott Road.

Detectives on Wednesday recovered multiple items that had reportedly been stolen, according to a Cole County Sheriff's Department probable cause statement. They were found at Champion's residence in the 400 block of Hutton Lane in Jefferson City. The items included power drills and a battery charger.

Champion allegedly confessed to the burglary, saying items were placed in the wood line near the cabinet shop and picked up several days later.
