2 people treated after Friday accidents

Two Mid-Missourians were treated Friday at Capital Region Medical Center after they were hurt in separate accidents.

The Highway Patrol said Elizabeth A. Odom, 30, of California, received moderate injuries when her 2006 Jeep Wrangler overturned on West Brazito Road, near Jones Road, in Cole County.

The accident happened at 2:55 p.m. Friday, the patrol said, when the eastbound Jeep ran off the right side of the road and Odom overcorrected. The Jeep skidded across the road and overturned on the left side.

Troopers said Odom was using her seatbelt.

Martin H. Brandt, 83, of Linn, received minor injuries in an 11 a.m. Friday accident on Church Hill Street, 160 feet south of Iris Avenue in Bonnots Mill.

Investigators said Brandt lost control of his 2011 Chevrolet Colorado as he was trying to back out of a driveway, and the vehicle hit a house.

Brandt was not using a seatbelt, the patrol reported.
