3 injured in Mid-Missouri crashes Sunday

Three people were injured in single-vehicle crashes in Callaway, Morgan and Miller counties Sunday.

Norma Lander, 77, of Fulton, was driving southbound on Route JJ, less than a mile south of Route Z in Callaway County, when her 2001 Chevrolet began to go over the right side of the road, according to a Missouri Highway Patrol report. Lander overcorrected, causing the vehicle to go off the road on the left side and overturn.

Lander was transported to a local hospital for moderate injuries. She was not wearing a seat belt.

In Morgan County, James Anderson, 75, of, Independence, was transported by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital on Sunday night for moderate injuries.

Anderson was driving southbound on Ivy Bend, near North Ivy Bend Road North Junction, when his 1996 Ford Explorer failed to negotiate a curve and traveled off the left side of the roadway, striking several trees.

He was wearing a seat belt.

In Miller County, Zachary Pemberton, 23, of Iberia, was driving eastbound on Missouri 42, about 300 feet west of Main Street in Brumley when he fell asleep and his 2008 Ford Focus went off the left side of the road and overturned.

The Miller County Sheriff's Office took Pemberton to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment. He was wearing a seat belt.
