An Eldon man was arrested Tuesday following a domestic disturbance and leading authorities on a chase in Miller County.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Miller County Sheriff's Department reports show, Gabriel Harris, 37, was being held on a no-bond warrant and a warrant with a $100,000 bond.

The disturbance occurred in the area of Route M and Adams Road, with the female victim saying she had been physically assaulted and was being followed on the highway by Harris in a pickup.

Deputies spotted Harris in the pickup, and he got out of the vehicle and fled on foot. Deputies pursued Harris on foot and lost sight of him in the woods.

A police K-9 unit and a Missouri Highway Patrol helicopter were brought in to help with the search.

An area resident notified authorities they had spotted Harris in the area of Adams Road and Bax Road.

A Highway Patrol trooper and Miller County deputy located Harris at approximately 6 p.m. inside a hay barn. When spotted, Harris went farther into the barn and hid between some round hay bales. A tractor was used to remove the bales, and at 11:29 p.m., he was located and taken into custody.

Authorities said Harris had several felony warrants for his arrest out of Miller and Camden counties.
