California woman arrested for vehicle theft

A California woman was arrested for the theft of a motor vehicle in Moniteau County.

Emily Eads, 22, was arrested Sept. 14, according to Moniteau County Sheriff's Department reports.

The theft was reported at a residence on Bird Haven Road near Centertown. The victims told deputies a woman had come to their home and driven away with their vehicle.

Deputies patrolled the area and later were called to a gas station in High Point, where a suspicious person had been spotted.

When deputies got to the station, they noticed a vehicle that matched the one reported stolen from Bird Haven Road. A woman matching the description of the one who allegedly took the vehicle was located inside the station. It was Eads, and she was taken into custody.

During an interview with authorities, she admitted she had stolen the car.
