With eight days before the Nov. 6 general election, campaign finance reports for candidates in contested Cole County races were due Monday.

The reporting period covers Oct. 1-25.

Prosecuting attorney

In the race for Cole County prosecutor, Republican candidate Locke Thompson and his committee, Friends for Locke Thompson, reported $15,305.96 on hand at the close of the reporting period.

The winner will take office in January and will replace incumbent Recorder Ralph Bray, who lost to Ridgeway in the August Republican primary.

County clerk

In the race for Cole County clerk, Republican incumbent Clerk Steve Korsmeyer and his campaign, Citizens to Elect Steve Korsmeyer, reported $4,526.06 on hand at the close of the reporting period. Those giving contributions of $100 or more included: Greg Rollins, of Jefferson City, $213.25; Ed Storey, of Jefferson City, $500; and Ann Kampeter, of Holts Summit, $200.

Green Party candidate Ann Moeckli and her campaign, Moeckli for County Clerk, reported that neither the total amount of contributions they received during this period, nor the amount of expenditures made by the committee, exceeded $500.

The winner will take office in January.
