The second stage of a resurfacing, sidewalk and pedestrian improvement project on Business 54 in Fulton is scheduled to begin Monday.
Night resurfacing of Business 54 will begin at the north end of the route and will take place each weekday from 6 p.m.-7 a.m. until December, according to a Missouri Department of Transportation news release.
One lane of Business 54 will be open at all times, and crews will flag motorists through the work areas. Silver Drive also will be resurfaced during this stage of work.
Temporary traffic signals will be installed Monday at the south end of Business 54 near the U.S. 54/Route H interchange. During this time, Route NN at Business 54 will be closed. The temporary traffic signal and the Route NN at Business Route 54 closure will last up to two weeks.
Motorists who want to access Business 54/U.S. 54 from Route NN will need to detour approximately 2.4 miles south to the access to U.S. 54 from Route NN.
Sidewalk improvement and ADA upgrade work will continue along Business 54 in Fulton during daytime hours. Motorists can expect to encounter lane closures on Business 54.
The $3.7 million project is a partnership between MoDOT and the city of Fulton. Aplex Inc., of Linn, is the prime contractor for this project.
