A Jefferson City man has been charged in connection with a chase with authorities in July.
Lionel Gurley, 41, is charged with possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm, resisting arrest and unlawful use of a weapon.
The chase occurred in the early morning hours of July 28, according to a Cole County Sheriff's Department probable cause statement.
Gurley was seen failing to signal and failing to drive within a single lane at Eastland Drive and U.S. 50/63.
A deputy pulled Gurley over and found he had a revoked driver's license. When the deputy asked Guarley to step out of his vehicle, he instead drove away at a high speed.
Gurley led authorities on a chase through residential areas, failing to stop at numerous red lights and stop signs.
A search of Gurley's vehicle turned up a gun magazine for a .45-caliber handgun. Deputies found the gun after going back over the route Gurley took during the chase. They also found a bag containing a white substance that tested positive for cocaine along with marijuana packaged for sale, bags typically used for narcotics sales and a digital scale.
Gurley is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing firearms.
