Kansas City woman arrested with DWI after area crash

A Kansas City woman was arrested Thursday morning following an injury crash in Callaway County.

Missouri Highway Patrol reports show the crash occurred at 8:30 a.m. on County Road 480 at County Road 481.

Amanda Chestnut, 51, failed to maintain her lane and went off the road. She struck the ground and a fence then came to rest in a field.

It was unknown if Chestnut was wearing a seat belt. She was treated for serious injuries while her passenger, Jean Boudreaux, 10, of Tebbetts, who was wearing a seat belt, was treated for minor injuries.

Chestnut was arrested for DWI-chronic offender, driving while suspended and careless and imprudent driving.

• In a separate Thursday accident, two people were hurt in a two-vehicle crash in Miller County.

Patrol reports show the crash occurred around 10:25 a.m. on Missouri 87 at Boulder Road.

Joseph Hayes, 26, of California, was making a left turn and was struck by Mitchell Eveler, 59, of Centertown.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, and both were treated for moderate injuries.

• Three people were hurt in a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning in Cole County.

Missouri Highway Patrol reports show the crash occurred at 7:13 a.m. on Route C at South Country Club Drive.

Haylee Rethman, 26, of Columbia, failed to yield to Kayla Witt, 29, of Eldon, causing the two to collide.

Rethman and Witt were treated for moderate injuries. A passenger in Witt’s vehicle, Noah Collas, 21, of Versailles, was treated for minor injuries. All those involved were wearing a seat belt.
