Contracts awarded for Mid-Missouri road projects

The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission this week awarded contracts for road and bridge improvements in Mid-Missouri.

Magruder Paving will make pavement improvements to a 6-mile stretch of U.S. 54 between Missouri 5 and Key Largo Road in Camden County after submitting the low bid of $2,485,331. Work on the road can begin any time after Dec. 1 and must be completed by summer 2019.

The Camden County Route J bridges over the Niangua River and Rainwater Creek will be replaced under a contract awarded to Lehman Construction, which submitted the low bid of $2,894,820. The project can begin any time after Dec. 1, and must be completed by the fall of 2020.

Next summer, there will be improvement projects on two routes in Osage County. Higgins Asphalt Paving submitted the low bid of $898,343 and was awarded a contract for chip-seal improvements on Route C between Missouri 100 and Route A and on Route W between U.S. 50 and Route A. When a start date is established, MoDOT will alert the public about the project through signs, news releases and social media.
