The following cases were heard Sept. 17 and Sept. 21 in the Circuit Court of Callaway County, Division I, Honorable Brouck Jacobs presiding:
Cameron Barton, 28, of Jefferson City, was sentenced to four years in prison for felony possession of a controlled substance (marijuana). He had been on probation for the offense since March 2018. Following a hearing, the judge found Barton had violated probation by being arrested for felony possession of marijuana in St. Louis County this past June. The case originally was investigated by the Missouri Highway Patrol.
Patricia Cannella, 55, of Fulton, was sentenced to five years in prison on each of two counts of possession of a controlled substance (heroin). She had been on probation for the offenses, admitted violating probation, and the judge revoked it. The judge recommended Cannella complete a substance abuse treatment program within the Department of Corrections before being considered for release. The cases originally were investigated by the Callaway County Sheriff's Office.
Daniel Crenshaw, 38, of Mexico, was sentenced to five years in prison for second-degree domestic assault. He had been on probation for the offense, admitted violating probation, and the judge revoked it. The case originally was investigated by the Callaway County Sheriff's Office.
Jackie Grimm, 48, of Fulton, pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a firearm and was sentenced to four years in prison. He admitted possessing a pistol in January 2017 despite being prohibited from possessing firearms due to his conviction for larceny from a motor vehicle in Wake County, North Carolina, in 1986. Police were called by staff at a Fulton restaurant who reported Grimm was passed out next to a motorcycle in the parking lot and a firearm was next to him. Police officers responded and found him in a semi-conscious state on the ground next to the pistol. The judge suspended execution of the prison sentence and placed Grimm on five years of supervised probation. The case was investigated by the Fulton Police Department.
Stephanie Hope, 32, of Fulton, pleaded guilty to charges of possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl) and stealing a firearm and was sentenced to four years in prison on each charge. She admitted to stealing a Desert Eagle handgun from the victim last December. Hope was arrested on the charge and was searched at that time leading to the discovery of the drug. The judge suspended execution of the prison sentences and placed her on five years of supervised probation under several conditions, including that she complete Callaway County Drug Court program. The case was investigated by the Fulton Police Department.
Shelby Krueger, 45, of Springfield, was sentenced to four years in prison for second-degree domestic assault. She had been on probation for the offense, admitted violating probation, and the judge revoked it. The case originally was investigated by the Callaway County Sheriff's Office.
Shannon Parker, 34, of Holts Summit, pleaded guilty to the felony offense of receiving stolen property. She admitted to fraudulently receiving welfare benefits between 2013-16. Parker received the benefits based on her false representations made in her application for the benefits. The judge sentenced her to five years in prison but suspended execution of the prison sentence and placed Parker on five years of supervised probation under several conditions, including that she pay restitution. The case was investigated by the Missouri Department of Social Services.
Timothy Picton, 47, of Mexico, pleaded guilty to driving while revoked (fourth offense) and was sentenced to two years in prison. He admitted operating a vehicle on U.S. 54 in July 2017 when he knew his driver's license was revoked. The judge suspended execution of the prison sentence and placed him on five years of supervised probation. The case was investigated by the Missouri Highway Patrol.
Brandon Pointer, 39, of Marshall, pleaded guilty to charges of first-degree burglary and felony stealing. He admitted to unlawfully entering the residence of his estranged wife this past March and stealing cash. Pointer's teenage child was in the residence at the time. The judge sentenced him to five years in prison on each of the charges. The case was investigated by the Fulton Police Department.
Brandon Reed, 38, of Fulton, pleaded guilty to third-degree domestic assault and was sentenced to four years in prison. He admitted physically assaulting the female victim in July, shoving her against a staircase. The judge suspended execution of the prison sentence and placed Reed on five years of supervised probation. The case was investigated by the Callaway County Sheriff's Office.
Samuel Weyland, 20, of New Bloomfield, pleaded guilty to charges of forgery and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and was sentenced to four years in prison on each charge. He admitted to being arrested in March for tampering with a motor vehicle. The vehicle, owned by Weyland, had been reported stolen from a tow lot in Pulaski County. Upon his release from jail, Weyland attempted to retrieve his vehicle from the Fulton Police Department, but was told the vehicle had holds on it for the original tow bill. He returned to the Fulton Police Department with a receipt showing he had paid the towing charges to the company in Pulaski County. Weyland admitted the receipt he used to retrieve his vehicle from the Fulton Police Department was not genuine and he used it to defraud authorities to get his vehicle back. He subsequently was arrested when the receipt was discovered to be forged. At the time of his arrest, Weyland advised police he had drugs in his hotel room, and those drugs were seized. The judge recommended Weyland complete a substance abuse treatment program within the Department of Corrections before being considered for release. The case was investigated by the Fulton Police Department.
Amber Woltman, 28, of Wellsville, pleaded guilty to felony stealing and was sentenced to three years in prison. She admitted to stealing an electronic device from a Fulton business in November 2017. The offense was enhanced to a felony based on Woltman's three prior convictions for stealing in Audrain County in 2015. The case was investigated by the Fulton Police Department.
