Jefferson City man given 5 years probation in drug case

A Jefferson City man was placed on five years supervised probation after pleading guilty to a charge of selling marijuana in April 2017.

Brannon Ivery, 23, pleaded guilty to delivery of a controlled substance during a hearing before Cole County Judge Dan Green.

Officers were called to Ivery's residence in the 900 block of Millbrook Drive after a report of doors being forced open, according to a Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement.

Ivery arrived on the scene and told officers it was his residence. They searched it and found a lock box next to some marijuana.

Items consistent with packaging and sale of marijuana were found in a closet, along with $1,621 in cash in the lock box. A cellphone was also found with numerous texts arranging for the sale of marijuana.
