BBB accuses Versailles company of deceptive practices

The Better Business Bureau advised customers to use caution when doing business with a Versailles mobile-home transporting business.

The consumer warning, issued Tuesday, said two customers told the non-profit BBB they lost $750 and $1,500 respectively after All-Star Mobile Home Transporting failed to move their homes. All-Star Mobile Home Transporting has an "F" rating from the BBB due to several recent unanswered consumer complaints, the BBB said.

In the consumer warning, the BBB said an Eldon woman paid All-Star $1,500 to move a mobile home from Willow Springs to Eldon in May, but the work was never completed.

"The woman had to hire another company to move the unit for her," the BBB said. "The woman said she has requested a refund, but has not received it."

Another man from California, Missouri, paid All-Star $750 to move a mobile home from Tipton to Fortuna in April. The move never took place, and the man sold the home.
