Child injured in Versailles crash

A 5-year-old girl was seriously injured in a crash Friday morning near Versailles.

Bonnie Williams, 47, turned right onto Blackberry Patch Road in a 2017 Ford Fusion near Quail Run Road around 6:30 a.m. Friday when she collided head-on with a 2006 Chevrolet Impala driven by Seth Folsom, 28.

Folsom's young daughter was taken by ambulance to St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City. Both cars are considered losses.

A pair of semi-trailers collided in an early-morning crash Friday on westbound Interstate 70.

Douglas Parkhurst, 61, was driving a A 2016 Freightliner Tractor Truck behind a 2012 Mack CXU 600 Tractor Truck driven by Johnnie Jackson, 56. Jackson's truck experienced a mechanical failure, lost power and was struck by Parkhurst's truck before it came to a controlled stop on the right side of the road.

Parkhurst's truck traveled over the center of the road, overcorrected, struck a guardrail and came to a controlled stop before it caught fire.

Parkhurst, of Marshall, sustained minor injuries and refused medical treatment. Jackson, from Macon, Georgia, sustained moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to the University Hospital. Parkhurst's truck was considered a loss. Jackson's truck sustained moderate damage.
