Aaron Campbell, 28, of Jefferson City, was charged Friday with class E felonies for third-degree assault and resisting arrest after allegedly breaking into a home, striking an occupant in the head and fleeing the scene.
Campbell reportedly forced his way through a locked door and entered a residence, where he was part of a prior disturbance, according to a Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement. The resident said she observed Campbell kicking the door before forcibly entering. He allegedly struck another occupant twice with his fist.
The resident said Campbell had a history of physical abuse.
When an officer reached the scene, the defendant reportedly did not comply with requests to submit and ran through the residence's yard before hiding under a motor vehicle, where he was taken into custody.
