Holts Summit man charged for burglary

A Holts Summit man has been charged with breaking into a Jefferson City business Monday.

Rickey Prewett, 36, is charged with one count of second-degree burglary.

The burglary occurred at Affordable Storage on Industrial Drive, according to a Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement.

When officers arrived, they found Prewett inside one of the storage units and found some of the locks on the doors had been cut.

A review of security system video allegedly showed Prewett using bolt cutters to gain entry into some of the storage units.

Prewett denied trying to break into the storage units. When told there was video evince of him doing so, he refused to answer any more questions.
