The Cole County Commission on Tuesday approved a contract to replace the roof at the Carnegie Building, where the county assessor and public defenders' offices are located.
Commissioners approved a contract with Weathercraft Inc. for $125,828. Work will begin as soon as weather permits.
The commission also plans to do tuck-pointing on the building, located at 210 Adams Street, at a later date.
The money for the work comes from the county's half-cent capital improvements sales tax.
In other business, commissioners approved and signed a memorandum of understanding with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to store and distribute Naloxone, the nasal spray used by first responders for people who have overdosed on narcotics.
Commissioners also OK'd installation of three disc golf baskets at County Park. The Jefferson City Disc Golf Club is funding the construction. There is room for potential future expansion. The course at County Park will be similar to the course already in place at Binder Park.
