California Fire Department trucks rolled out at about 11 p.m. Sunday to respond to smoke pouring from the roof of the California Eagles Club Aerie 4027 in California.

Responders discovered the building to be compromised and called volunteers from the California Rural Fire Protection District and the Jamestown Rural Fire Protection District.

Nearly 30 volunteer firefighters worked through the night to keep the embers and flames contained.

At 9 a.m. Monday, firefighters were still putting out spot fires from the debris piled from two stories of building falling in on itself. They expected to continue to monitor the site through the evening.
