The Missouri Department of Transportation is holding an online public meeting to share information about an upcoming project that will include replacing the deck on the Route E bridge over Moreau Creek in Moniteau County.
The bridge is located approximately 3 miles south of U.S. 50.
MoDOT is seeking input at modot.org/central/MoniteauRouteEBridge.htm and will accept comments through Aug 7.
The project is scheduled to be awarded in the fall and is scheduled for construction in 2019. During construction, Route E will be closed.
MoDOT officials said the existing bridge was built in 1964 and has weight restrictions. The condition of the bridge deck has reached a point where deck replacement is necessary. After the replacement of the deck, the weight restriction will be removed.
The total project cost is estimated to be $620,000.
