3 hurt, 1 arrested in Cole County crash

Three people were hurt, one of whom was arrested, following a one-vehicle crash Wednesday night in Cole County.

Missouri Highway Patrol reports show the crash occurred around 9:45 p.m. on Branch Road east of Russell Lane.

Cody Amos-Caldwell, 25, of Lohman, ran off the right side of the road. He overcorrected, reentered the roadway and went into a sideways skid. The vehicle overturned; and Amos-Caldwell, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected. The vehicle skidded on its top off the left side of the road and overturned a second time, finally coming to rest on its wheels against a tree.

Two passengers - Trey Gaunt, 17, of California, and James Kirchner, 17, of Russellville - were treated for moderate injuries. Neither was wearing a seat belt.

Amos-Caldwell was treated for serious injuries. The patrol arrested him for operating a vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner resulting in an crash, having no insurance, not wearing a seat belt, displaying the license plates of another vehicle, and operating a vehicle without a title.
