Trials set for DeBrodie case defendants

Trial dates have been set for five defendants charged in relation to the Carl DeBrodie case.

Sherry Paulo, Anthony R. Flores, Mary Paulo, Anthony R.K. Flores and Shaina Osborne are headed to trial at the Callaway County Courthouse, according to online court records.

All five were arrested June 5, having been indicted by grand jury in late March. Each defendant was employed by Second Chance Homes of Fulton, where DeBrodie lived prior to his death.

Sherry Paulo, 53, was indicted for client neglect, felony abandonment of a corpse (both class D felonies), first-degree involuntary manslaughter (a class C felony) and two counts of making a false report of a missing person. She has pleaded not guilty. Her trial has been set for 9 a.m. Aug. 21.

Mary Paulo, 34, was indicted for making a false report of a missing person (a class A misdemeanor) and has pleaded not guilty. Her trial will be at 9 a.m. Aug. 21.

Anthony R. Flores, 58, was indicted for client neglect, felony abandonment of a corpse (both class D felonies), first-degree involuntary manslaughter (a class C felony) and two counts of making a false report of a missing person. He has pleaded not guilty. His trial will occur at 9 a.m. Nov. 28.

Anthony R.K. Flores, 32, was indicted for two counts of a false report of a missing person (a class A misdemeanor). He has pleaded not guilty and his trial will be at 9 a.m. Nov. 29.

Shaina Osborne, 29, was indicted for making a false report of a missing person (a class A misdemeanor). Online court records do not show a plea for Osborne. Her trial is set for 9 a.m. Nov. 29.

DeBrodie was 31 years old when his decomposed remains were found dumped in a Fulton storage unit April 24, 2017, about a week after he was reported missing. He was a developmentally disabled resident of Second Chance Homes, a care facility at 298 Claymine Drive in Fulton tasked with and paid to give him a home.
