3 Fulton men arrested on multiple theft charges

Three Fulton men have been charged in connection with multiple theft cases from around Callaway County.

Russell Barnes, 33, was charged with four counts of stealing and one count of first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle.

Russell Barnes Sr., 56, was charged with four counts of stealing.

Alvin Barnes, 25, is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of an illegal weapon.

All three were arrested as the result of an investigation into the theft of trailers, ATVs, farm equipment, and other items, according to a news release from the Callaway County Sheriff's Office.

Callaway County deputies executed two search warrants at a property in the 3000 block of County Road 328, south of Fulton, recovering several thousand dollars' worth of items that had been stolen around the Fulton, New Bloomfield and Holts Summit areas.

Deputies earlier had recovered a stolen ATV along County Road 328 that is related to this investigation.

Authorities are continuing the investigation and said further arrests are possible.
