DED task force aims to improve workplace conditions

The Missouri Department of Economic Development is seeking public input as work by a task force designed to improve conditions for Missouri's workforce wraps up.

The DED wants Missouri residents and organizations to submit notes or white papers between 140 characters and four pages at bestinthemidwest.com, according to a news release.

The DED announced plans in April to conduct an internal review it hopes will help it become the top economic development agency in the Midwest.

The department also announced a workforce development task force in May that is studying how the state's workforce aligns with the needs of its employers. The task force finished a series of meetings across the state seeking public input into the projects on Wednesday. The DED plans to release a report in September with the task force's findings.
