The Jefferson City Police Department will host a community forum intended to help places of worship improve safety and security.

Attendees of the event, to be held from 6-8 p.m. March 8 at the Missouri Farm Bureau Insurance building, 701 S. Country Club Drive in Jefferson City, will hear about assessments of local, state and national threats. They will discuss practical ways local law enforcement can address the threats.

The forum is a cooperative partnership between the JCPD, FBI, U.S. Attorney's Office, Cole County Sheriff's Department, Missouri Highway Patrol and Lincoln University Police Department.

Public safety experts from each law enforcement agency will answer questions during a Q&A session, according to a news release.

The event is open to the public and free of charge. Anyone wishing to attend should RSVP by emailing their name to [email protected].
