Applications available for absentee voting

Applications are being accepted now for absentee voting through April 2 for those wishing to vote in the Cole County Clerk's Office for the April 3 municipal election.

Those who would like to make an application for a family member in the U.S. Armed Forces, college, or confined to the home due to illness or physical disability should do so as soon as possible so the ballots have ample time to get back to the clerk's office by April 3.

All ballots mailed out by the clerk must be received by 7 p.m. on election day. The deadline to mail out an absentee ballot is 5 p.m. March 28.

The clerk's office will be open 8 a.m.-noon March 31 for those wishing to vote absentee. The clerk's office is located on the second floor of the Cole County Courthouse Annex on East High Street.

The deadline to cast an absentee ballot in the clerk's office will be 5 p.m. April 2.

If you know you will be out of town for the April 3 election, call the clerk's office at 573-634-9101 about obtaining an absentee ballot.
