Two men have been charged with drug trafficking in Jefferson City.

Rodney Parham, 25, of Jefferson City, is charged with one count of second-degree drug trafficking. Kevin Reese, 24, of Texas, is charged with two counts of second-degree drug trafficking.

The two were taken into custody following the serving of a search warrant Friday afternoon at Parham's residence in the 1100 block of Adams Street, according to Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statements.

In a bag found in the living room, authorities recovered 1 pound of marijuana wrapped in brick-style packaging and a cellphone bag with 41 grams of cocaine.

Inside the trunk of a vehicle parked in front of the residence, authorities found four plastic trash bags containing 91 1-pound, brick-style marijuana packages.

Reese later told police he left the car with Parham on Thursday and went to St. Louis. He returned to Jefferson City early Friday morning and said he didn't know how the drugs had gotten in the vehicle.

Parham told police he used marijuana and cocaine but had no idea how the marijuana got into the car.
