Congressional art competition begins

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer, of Missouri, has announced the annual opportunity for high school artists who live in the Third District to display their talents in the 2018 Congressional Art Competition.

"I am very excited to announce the beginning of the 2018 Congressional Art Competition," Luetkemeyer said. "Each year my staff and I look forward to receiving and reviewing the incredible artwork submitted by high school students from across the Third District. The talent displayed never ceases to amaze me, and I know 2018 will prove to be an even harder year to choose the winning artwork."

Entries and release forms must be submitted to any of Luetkemeyer's district offices in Jefferson City, Wentzville, or Washington by April 16. Entries may be submitted prior to the deadline. The winner and runners-up will be contacted once the judging has been completed.

The winning entry from the Third Congressional District will be displayed in Washington, D.C. for one year. The winning student will also receive free airfare to Washington, D.C. this summer to attend a ceremony for the unveiling of the winning artwork. All runners-up will be displayed in Luetkemeyer's Congressional offices.
