Authorities said Wednesday two Tuesday shootings incidents were not related to each other.
The first shooting occurred shortly before 5 p.m. in Cole County in the 5400 block of Collier Lane. No one was hit when bullets were fired into an apartment. The suspect or suspects left the scene before deputies arrived on the scene.
The second shooting occurred just before 10:15 p.m. in the 300 block of Case Avenue in Jefferson City. In that instance, authorities said it began as a disturbance and led to subjects pulling guns out and firing them.
Several shell casings were found, and a residence and vehicles were hit. One person was injured, but did not require transport to a hospital. As of Wednesday afternoon, no arrests had been made.
In both cases, authorities said the parties involved knew each other, and they don't believe there is a threat to the general public. The investigation into both incidents is continuing.
