About five years ago, Brian and Karen Atkins were gifted an antique transit map of Brooklyn, which they hung in the lobby of their Fulton pizzeria.

On Tuesday evening, someone stole that map from the entrance of Brooklyn Pizza.

"It was on the wall in between the front doors," Brian said Wednesday morning. "It just could have been somebody leaving. It's not unusual to see people up there looking at the maps and stuff."

The red-matted map, possibly from the 1940s, shows the BMT Lines Rapid Transit in Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn, down to Coney Island.

"You can see trolleys in the neighborhood where we used to live, so you know it's old," Atkins said. "I just felt terrible."

He said the map was discovered missing when he came into work at about 4:15 a.m. Wednesday, and thought the theft happened last night. He and his wife are offering a $100 reward for information leading to its return.

"I got it from Jimmy who works over at the cafe up the block - his mom lived in Brooklyn," Atkins added.

He's checking with area businesses to see if anyone saw anything or the image of the crook appears on any security video.

"I never even worried about something like this happening," he said. "Maybe somebody saw something. I put it on Facebook and pushed the post."
