The Cole R-1 School District took part Monday in the Russellville High School FFA Barnyard Day, giving younger students the chance to see a wide assortment of livestock and other animals cared for by the high school FFA students.
The Russellville High School FFA chapter has held Barnyard Day for several years. A variety of animals like goats, donkeys and horses was on display with other agriculture-related exhibits to show younger students some of the fun they could have as FFA members when they enter high school.
FFA is a national intra-curricular organization for high school students who are interested in agriculture and leadership. The program helps students explore their interests and develop talents in many different agriculture-related careers, from running their own farm to working as plant science experts.
