Two people were hurt in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday evening in Cole County.
Missouri Highway Patrol reports show the crash occurred at 5:20 p.m. on U.S. 63 at County Road 609.
Chance Sommerer, 24, of Jefferson City, failed to negotiate a curve, went off the right side of the road, then overcorrected and crossed the center line before striking a vehicle driven by David Lackman, 47, of Westphalia, head-on.
Sommerer was treated for serious injuries, and Lackman was treated for minor injuries. It was unknown whether the drivers were wearing seat belts.
