Fulton man charged for motor vehicle tampering

A Fulton man was charged Wednesday with first-degree felony tampering with a motor vehicle and felony stealing, according to Lt. Curtis Hall, of the Callaway County Sheriff's Office.

Marcelius Hopkins, 32, was charged in connection with a stolen vehicle incident reported Sept. 10.

The vehicle went missing east of Fulton, and the Sheriff's Office and Fulton Police Department located the vehicle on Sept. 13 in Fulton, Hall said. Hopkins was identified as a suspect.

Hopkins was arrested at 3:02 a.m. Wednesday, Hall added. He remains in custody at the Callaway County Jail on bond of $9,000.
