All girls are invited to Do S'more with Girl Scouts Friday evening to enjoy the campfire-lore treats; try some science, technology, engineering and math activities; and sign up for a year of Girl Scouts.

The event will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Community Christian Church, 409 Ellis Blvd. in Jefferson City.

Annual membership dues for Girl Scouts are $25, but financial assistance is available.

Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland has a membership of just over 12,500 girls and 4,000 adults across 68 counties in central and southern Missouri, southeastern Kansas and northeastern Oklahoma, according to a news release.

The news release also notes, "Girl Scouts gives girls a supportive space to take chances, try new things and learn to succeed - improving all aspects of their lives. Girls Scouts is the premier place to provide girls with a safe all-girl environment for trying new things and overcoming feras, making them greater challenge-seekers, more proficient students and eventually, more successful adults."
