Loud noises during law enforcement training scenarios Tuesday afternoon at the old St. Mary's Hospital facility near downtown Jefferson City led to several calls to the 911 Center.
Police officials said calls starting coming around 2:15 p.m. with residents reporting they heard several "booms" but couldn't tell from where they were coming. They did say it didn't sound like a sonic boom - made when an Air Force plane breaks the sound barrier - which happens on occasion.
It turns out, members of the Central Missouri Tactical Officers Association were participating in training, which will continue Wednesday.
Authorities did not specify what weapons were being used during the training.
