4 injured in Jefferson City accident

Four Jefferson City residents were injured in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon in Jefferson City.

The accident occurred at about 12:20 p.m., when officers were called to the intersection of Broadway Street and U.S. 50, according to a Jefferson City Police Department report.

Police said a vehicle driven by Vanessa Green, 29, was traveling northbound on Broadway and attempting to make a left turn to travel westbound on U.S. 50, when Green turned in front of a vehicle driven by Kerry Kroll, 42, who was traveling southbound on Broadway and crossing U.S. 50.

Both drivers, as well as a passenger in Green's vehicle, Biaunca Scott, 24, and a passenger in Kroll's vehicle, Deborah Horton, 59, were transported to local hospitals for treatment of injuries.

The intersection was blocked, limiting eastbound and westbound traffic to one lane in each direction, for about 30 minutes.

Both drivers and passengers were wearing seat belts.
