Callaway students help United Way with penny drive

Penny by penny, Callaway County students came together and raised $7,266.11 for the Callaway County United Way, according to Megan Prenger, UW executive director.

"We are proud of our students and teachers, and are excited to share that this year they raised a total of $7,266.11," Prenger said.

Below are the totals each school raised:

McIntire Elementary: $2,085.96;

Bush Elementary: $1,210.15;

St. Peters Catholic School: $942.58;

Bartley Elementary: $863.99;

Fulton High School: $619.03;

Auxvasse Elementary: $434.66;

South Callaway Elementary: $408.70;

Williamsburg Elementary: $293.45;

Hatton-McCredie Elementary: $279.40;

North Callaway High School: $128.19.

"Over the last 16 years, the Callaway County schools have raised a total of $117,393.98 to help people in our community," Prenger said. "The Callaway County United Way appreciates all their hard work they do every year as they make a difference."
