3 area residents hurt in weekend wrecks

At least three Mid-Missourians were injured in early holiday weekend accidents, the Missouri Highway Patrol reported.

Chelsea N. Steele, 27, of Jefferson City, received minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident Friday night in Callaway County.

The patrol said Steele's westbound 1995 Honda Accord, ran off U.S. 54 at Hillers Creek, striking a guardrail.

The accident happened at 8:30 p.m. Steele was using her seatbelt.

Cole J. Wiggins, 18, of Linn, was hurt at about 2:30 p.m. Friday, when his northbound 1977 Chevrolet Camaro skidded off the left side of Route U in Gasconade County and hit a fence and a tree.

The accident occurred south of the Route U and Route DD intersection.

Wiggins wasn't using his seatbelt, troopers said.

Jeniene Teichgraeber, 81, of Osage Beach, was taken Friday to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach with moderate injuries, after her eastbound 2016 Chrysler 200 ran off the left side of U.S. 54, went into the air and then hit a tree.

The accident happened at 1:15 p.m. Friday, a mile west of Weaubleau in Hickory County.

Teichgraeber was using her seatbelt.
