JCPD investigating Tuesday night shooting

Jefferson City police are investigating a shooting that occurred Tuesday night.

Police reports show that at just after 9 p.m. officers responded to a "shots fired" call in the 600 block of East McCarty Street. When officers arrived, they located shell casings in the area and a vehicle fleeing the scene. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, which failed to yield, ultimately leading to an area hospital. Inside the vehicle was a man who appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound. Authorities did not say how many times the man was shot, nor did they give a report on his condition.
