Charges sought in two Osage arrests

Osage County Sheriff Mike Bonham said Saturday he's asking Prosecutor Amanda Grellner to file charges in two cases.

Bonham said deputies arrested Michael A. Gianakis Jr., 51, of Chamois, on a number of charges after being called about some prescription pills stolen from a home in Chamois.

Officers are seeking charges of stealing and possession of a controlled substance in Gianakis' case.

The sheriff also is seeking three charges after his officers arrested a Meta man described as a "known sex offender."

Darrell Gene Branch, 56, of Meta, was arrested after a woman complained he touched her buttocks with his hand twice, including after she told him to stop.

She said the encounter occurred in the laundry room of her apartment complex.

Bond was set at $20,000, and Bonham is asking for charges of second-degree sexual misconduct, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of less than 10 grams of marijuana.
