2 charged in shooting that killed 1 woman, wounded another

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) -- Two Columbia men are charged in a shooting in which bullets went through the wall of a home, killing one woman and wounding another.

KQFX reports that Darold Pruitt and Devontre Kennedy were charged Monday with second-degree murder in the death last week of 25-year-old Shamya Brimmage. They're also charged with second-degree assault and shooting a firearm from a motor vehicle at a habitable structure. Bond is set at $1 million. No attorneys are listed for them in online court records.

The deadly shooting followed one several hours earlier in which no one was hurt.

Court records say Pruitt told police he was the first shooting's target and that Kennedy took him to work afterward. But Kennedy offered a conflicting account, and surveillance video didn't corroborate Pruitt's story.
