Sheriff's department, drug task force arrest two

Two people were taken into custody following the search of a residence in Fortuna on June 16. Moniteau County Sheriff's deputies working with the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force conducted the search.

Nicole M. Heather, 35, was arrested on an outstanding Morgan County warrant. A search of the residence and other buildings on the property resulted in the location of substances that field-tested as methamphetamine, as well as drug paraphernalia. Hoyt A. Marcott, 50, of Fortuna, was then arrested.

Heather was in custody on a warrant for felony possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine - and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. Bond has been set in Morgan County at $50,000.

Marcott was charged in Moniteau County with felony possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine. Bond has been set in Moniteau County at $25,000.
