19-year-old seriously injured after fall from roof of SUV

A young man from Gravois Mill was seriously injured early Sunday morning in Morgan County when he fell off the roof of a moving SUV.

Sequoia Tores, 19, was the passenger in a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Jared Wright, 20, of Stover. At about 3:43 a.m. on Route T just south of Campbell Drive, Tores climbed onto the roof of the SUV then fell off, onto the roadway.

The Highway Patrol report did not specify the posted speed limit on the road or how fast Wright was driving.

After Tores fell off the SUV, Wright drove off the right side of the road and struck a ditch; he was not wearing a seat belt and suffered minor injuries.

Staff for Life airlifted Tores to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment. Wright sought his own treatment.
