Woman killed in area wreck

A Marshall woman was killed and three others injured in a two-vehicle wreck Saturday night in Miller County.

Grace Helgenberger, 46, Marshall, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Missouri Highway Patrol said the wreck occurred when a vehicle driven by Donald Talbott, 50, of Marshall, was westbound on U.S. 54 at Route W at about 7:45 p.m.

His vehicle turned into the path of a vehicle driven eastbound by Bobby Albertson, 71, Eldon.

Albertson and his passenger, Donna Albertson, 68, of Eldon, were taken to Lake Regional Hospital by ambulance with serious injuries.

Talbott was flown by helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia.

Of the four involved in the wreck, only Talbott was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.

A Stover man and Gravois Mills woman were injured in a one-vehicle accident early Sunday morning in Morgan County.

The patrol said Jared Wright, 20, of Stover, was driving southbound on Route T, just south of Campbell Drive when his passenger, Sequoia Tores, 19, of Gravois Mills, climbed onto the roof of the vehicle while it was moving.

Tores fell off the roof and onto the road, while the vehicle went off the right side of the road and struck a ditch.

The accident happened at 3:43 a.m.

Neither were wearing seat belts, the patrol said.

Wright had minor injuries and sought his own treatment.

Tores was flown by helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia.

Bland resident Matthew Milges, 26, suffered moderate injuries in a one-vehicle wreck early Sunday morning in Maries County.

The patrol said Milges was eastbound on Missouri 42, about three miles east of Vienna at 12:26 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve. His vehicle went off the left side of the road, struck a driveway and overturned.

Milges, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla.
