Missouri highway shooting victim dies

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) -- A man shot near a highway connector in Columbia has died.

Dori Burke, an investigator with the Boone County Medical Examiner's Office, tells the Columbia Daily Tribune that 25-year-old Quinten Hurt died Wednesday after he and an unidentified 22-year-old woman were wounded in the June 26 shooting.

Police say 30-year-old Denico Crawley has been charged with six felonies that include first-degree assault and first-degree domestic assault. Prosecutor Stephanie Morrell could not be reached for comment by the newspaper.

Police say Crawley had been previously romantically involved with the woman. The victims had told officers they saw Crawley shooting at them as they approached the ramp entering Interstate 70.

Crawley's court hearing is Aug. 5. He's being held without bond at the Boone County Jail.
