GUTHRIE, Mo. - Two Jefferson City residents were arrested at a national forest campground Wednesday in the Guthrie area, according to Callaway County Sheriff Clay Chism.

Tara Latham, 37, and David Latham, 42, were encountered by patroling deputies at 11:30 a.m. at the Mark Twain National Forest's Dry Ford Campground on County Road 361.

Chism reported the Lathams had been identified as suspects in suspicious activity offenses occurring in the area.

Tara Latham was subsequently arrested for a Miller County (no bond) probation violation warrant and a Cole County felony warrant for failure to register as a sex offender. She also was found to be in possession of narcotics, and was booked and processed for a Callaway County offense of felony possession of a controlled substance. He was incarcerated in the Callaway County Jail on $1,367.50 bond.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges could be forthcoming, Chism said.
